Businesswoman Shade Okoya has opened up about her marriage to 85-year-old billionaire industrialist, Razak Okoya, describing it as a happy and fulfilling union.
In a recent interview with BBC Yoruba, Shade shared that despite their significant age difference, her husband has always been generous, protective, and supportive throughout their over two-decade-long marriage.
Married since 1999 at the age of 21, Shade credited divine providence for the success of their relationship, saying it was God who placed her in it.
She also dismissed any notion of regret, confidently stating that she hasn’t missed out on anything by not marrying a younger man, and continues to enjoy a deeply satisfying marriage.
She said: “My husband has been very generous with me, and defends me anywhere. God said this is where I will be. We met each other, and he liked me and he did not waste time at all.
“I’m happy in my marriage to him. He is far older than me but I don’t think I ever missed out on anything because I didn’t marry a younger man. I remember when he expressed his interest in me – it was straightforward, and he got down to business by meeting my parents and doing the needful in no time.”
