Ex-Super Eagles international, Mutiu Adepoju, has praised the national team after their victory in Rwanda, urging them to replicate the same performance against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

The Eagles currently occupy the fourth position in Group C, which includes Benin Republic, Rwanda, South Africa, and Lesotho.

Last Friday, the Eagles secured a win against Rwanda, thanks to striker Victor Osimhen’s brace, which separated the two sides.

Assessing the team’s performance, Adepoju remarked that while they are performing well, they need to bring out their best.

He said, “The game against the Warriors of Zimbabwe is one the team must try their best to win, as they have to be at the World Cup.

“Africa has no small team anymore. In every department of the team, there are capable players. They can only improve on themselves, and their capabilities will be crucial in the game against Zimbabwe and others. They should go out there and do us proud,” he added.

The Warriors of Zimbabwe will be aiming for their first win over the Super Eagles in 44 years when the two teams clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday.

The last time Zimbabwe defeated Nigeria was in 1981 during a friendly match at home.

Since then, the two teams have met seven times, with the Super Eagles winning four matches while three ended in draws.
