President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written to the Senate, seeking confirmation of three additional ministerial nominees.
According to a statement, the three ministerial nominees whose names have been submitted to the Senate are Dr. Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas and Olawale Olawande.
“Following the appointment of three additional ministerial nominees, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has requested the Senate confirm the new list,” the statement read in part.
President Tinubu made the request on Tuesday in a letter written to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Tinubu also sought the speedy approval and confirmation of the nominees in the letter read at the plenary of the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly by Akpabio.
President Tinubu constituted his cabinet on August 21, 2023, after swearing in 45 Ministers at the State House, Abuja.
A total of 48 nominees were screened by the Senate.
Upon conclusion of the screening exercise, the Senate voted and confirmed 45, leaving out three nominees.
The three nominees were the former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Director at Nigeria Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank, Stella Okotete (Delta) and Abubakar Sani Danladi (Taraba).
