The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has brought forward by a day the 2026 World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and Crocodiles of Lesotho.

NFF yesterday said that the CAF Group C World Cup qualifying game, originally fixed for November 17, 2023, will now hold on November 16 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, kicking off at 5.00 p.m.

After the game in Uyo, the Super Eagles will fly to Kigali, Rwanda, for their second game of the series against Zimbabwe on November 20, 2023. That game will hold at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

As part of their preparations for the World Cup qualifiers, Jose Peseiro’s team were held to a 2-2 draw by Saudi Arabia in an international friendly on October 13 and beat Mozambique 3-2 in another friendly three days later.

The Super Eagles boast a 100 percent record against Lesotho in international fixtures having won four games on the bounce, scoring a total of 10 goals while conceding two.

Zimbabwe will host Nigeria in Rwanda after failing to get a local stadium ready in time to host the World Cup qualifiers.

The Warriors will kick off their group campaign with a match against Rwanda in Rwanda on November 13 before they host Nigeria in the same country a week later.
