Actress Laide Bakare has responded to her, colleague Eniola Badmus, following the remarks Badmus allegedly made about a photo Bakare posted online.

Taking to Instagram, Bakare reminded Badmus of the pivotal role she played in launching her acting career.

She claimed she offered Badmus her first major movie role at a time when many producers avoided working with her because of her appearance.

Expressing disappointment over the perceived betrayal, Bakare criticized Badmus sharply, even going as far as calling her an “animal” for repaying kindness with hostility.

“eniola_badmus I gave you, first major role in your life when. No one wants to Associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity. Spent my own hard earned money on an ingrate like you, All you could pay me back with is to call me Animal? Haaa! ENIOLA! Almighty God will judge you insha Allah You have started what you can finish and I promise you, you must collect”, she wrote.

Prior to this, a heated exchange unfolded between both actresses at the premiere of Eniola Ajao’s film “Owambe Thieves” on April 13, 2025, at Filmhouse Circle Mall, Jakande.

The tension arose when Badmus appeared visibly upset upon noticing Bakare on the dance floor, prompting her to move away and later lash out as Bakare approached her.

Badmus was heard saying, “Don’t film us together, we’re not friends,” in Yoruba.
