Jurors in Wisconsin sitting for the trial of Taylor Schabusiness were shown the harrowing bodycam footage of the moment police discovered the severed head and penis of her murdered lover.
Schabusiness, 25, is accused of strangling 25-year-old Shad Thyrion to death before sexually abusing and mutilating the corpse with a bread knife.
Tara Pakanich, Thyrion’s mother, came upon the grisly scene shortly after Schabusiness left on February 22.
“Oh my f—king god,” one of the officers can be heard saying while others groaned indecipherably at the discovery.
“I went downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs, to the right, there was a green bucket with a shower towel on top of it,” said Officer Alex Wanish during his testimony. “Just to verify we had an actual head in the bucket, lifted the towel off and there was in fact a human head severed head in the bucket.”
He also noted that he found chunks of flesh alongside a bloodied mattress.
Schabusiness was charged with first-degree intentional homicide, third-degree sexual assault, and mutilating a corpse. She has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
